It’s outrageous that families in North Ayrshire are being asked to choose which cuts they want to their care services.
The health authority is forcing people to pick from a series of terrible options that would all mean severely cutting provision for those in need.
It’s shameful to take a ‘pick and mix’ approach to support for elderly and vulnerable residents in this way.
Any consultation on the future of services must include an option of properly funded care, with no cutbacks whatsoever.
The Scottish Government must urgently intervene to ensure funding to prevent a ‘care crisis’ in North Ayrshire.
Anything less would be a total betrayal by the Scottish Government of some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
