It is shocking that in nearly 60 % of salmon rivers across Scotland, salmon populations are in poor conservation status.
SEPA – Scotland’s environmental watchdog – has launched a consultation on proposed wild salmon protection zones and a sea lice exposure threshold that applies in these zones.
Sea lice from marine finfish farms can pose a significant risk to wild salmon populations – we must play out part to minimise its impact on our ecosystems.
SEPA’s proposals are open to consultation until 14 March 2022. You can click here if you want to find out more or share your views about the proposed framework to protect Scotland’s wild salmon.
